CEGA Group, the provider of travel assistance, risk management and claims services, has appointed Mike Flippance as head of retail and international private health insurance services. The move further extends CEGA’s offering to travel and health insurers and complements its appointment last month of a head of corporate services.
Mike has over 20 years' experience of the travel and health insurance sectors, specialising in claims and medical assistance management. He also brings extensive knowledge of operational management, process re-engineering and cost control.
His former roles have included (most recently) head of medical assistance and claims for MAPFRE Asistencia in Madrid, where he held global responsibility. He has also held positions as international projects manager at AXA Travel Insurance and head of travel claims and assistance for AIG.
Neil Heasman, CEGA’s operations director, comments: “Mike adds considerable expertise to CEGA’s travel and health insurance provision and his appointment reflects our commitment to offer unparalleled service to an ever broadening range of clients. His skills support both our strategic business development plans and our quest to deliver a unique client offering.”
“CEGA’s world-class service and continually pioneering innovations in both service and cost-control have earned it the full trust of an exceptional client base,” adds Mike. “It is strongly positioned to leverage its existing proposition and enjoy rapid growth through diverse development plans.”
On his ambitions for the new role, Mike says: “I intend to further embed best-practice solutions and develop our people: creating an unrivalled operation from which to service our retail clients and their customers.”
